I just open-sourced the Job Map Express Agent Skill, bringing execution of the Jobs-to-be-Done method right into your chat workflow across Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and Google Antigravity.
No high-priced consulting theater or bloated slide decks—just clean, actionable JTBD analysis natively inside your development environment.
What you can generate in chat:
Job maps: Chronological maps with precise step fidelity (low, medium, or high), strictly separating phases from steps.
Success metrics: Granular outcome statements tied directly to execution steps.
Extended context: Related jobs, situational factors, social and emotional jobs, and root causes without synthetic survey math.
Consumption jobs: Specialized maps focused on distinct solution classes.
Install via skills.sh:
Bash
npx skills add mikeboysen/job-map-express-skillOnce installed, start a new agent session, invoke /job-map-express help to see available capabilities, or prompt your agent directly to map a job.
Check out the repo, installation options, and method documentation on GitHub.
Hope you all enjoy this. It’s been a long-time coming. Send it to your friends anytime you hear the words “Jobs to be Done” pass their lips. 😜 There’s so much more coming.
Is your organization interested in differentiated innovation? The world is changing quickly. If you’re not adapting to those changes, you’re not innovating. Seeking reassurance from consultants fails, nearly always (sometimes they get lucky). I work with organizations who are serious about attacking problems using first principles. Many have been burned once, and they don’t want it to happen again. Is that you? (my availability is limited).
